<p><strong>LOCKPORT, Ill. –</strong> The Purdue University Calumet women’s tennis team saw its season come to an end, as St. Francis (Ill.) handed the Peregrines a 7-2 loss in the quarterfinals of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. PUC ends the year with a 1-9 overall record.<span id="more-435"></span></p>
<p>Dawn Jaranowski won her second-straight match, claiming a straight-set victory (6-2, 6-4) over Shannon Mudro in No. 6 singles play. Lauren Innes and Kara Buchholz also tallied a win, escaping with an 8-5 spread over Mudro and Shannon Trueba at No. 3 doubles.</p>
<p>Innes and Jaranowski led the Black and Gold with two victories in singles play this season, while Kristina Davison, Alyssa Hojnicki and Sarah Hojnicki also notched wins on the year.</p>

The Peregrines close out conference play with an 1-8 overall record an a 0-5 mark in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.<span id="more-405"></span></p>
<p>Dawn Jaranowski recorded two victories on the day, winning her No. 4 singles match in straight sets before teaming with Felicia Deardorff to win, 8-0, in No. 2 doubles. Lauren Innes won her second-straight match, claiming a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 5 singles action.</p>
<p>The Peregrines will begin CCAC Tournament play on Monday, April 23, as it travels to Joliet, Ill. to face St. Francis in the conference quarterfinals.</p>

<p>Lauren Innes topped the Black and Gold, winning seven games at No. 6 singles in a 6-4, 6-3 loss. Felicia Deardorff won three games before falling 6-2, 6-1 in No. 5 singles action, while teaming up with Dawn Jaranowski to take four games in an 8-4 loss in No. 3 doubles play.</p>

<p><strong>ELGIN, Ill. –</strong> The Purdue University Calumet women’s tennis team dropped to 0-2 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, after falling to Judson University, 9-0, on Saturday morning. The Peregrines slide to 1-5 overall with the loss.<span id="more-376"></span></p>
<p>Lauren Innes led the way for Purdue Calumet, winning the first set of her No. 6 singles match before falling in the next two sets by way of a pair of tiebreakers. The sophomore also fell just short in her No. 3 doubles match with Jamie Pittman, losing 9-7.</p>
<p>Sarah Hojnicki won seven games at No. 2 singles, before falling in straight sets. Felicia Deardorff (No. 3 singles) and Dawn Jaranowski (No. 4 singles) each lost in straight sets despite claiming three games apiece.</p>
<p>The Black and Gold will return to the court this Wednesday, April 11, when they play host to local rival Calumet St. Joseph.</p>

<p><strong>CHICAGO, Ill. –</strong> The Purdue University Calumet women’s tennis fell in its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener, dropping a 9-0 decision to league heavyweight Robert Morris on Tuesday afternoon. The Peregrines slide to 1-4 overall with the defeat.<span id="more-369"></span></p>
<p>RMU opened up the match with all three victories in doubles action, winning all but one game in the process. The PUC tandem of Felicia Deardorff and Dawn Jaranowski claimed the lone game for the Black and Gold in No. 2 doubles action.</p>
<p>The Eagles continued its dominance in singles play, as Sarah Hojnicki, playing at No. 2 singles, was the lone individual for PUC to win a game.</p>
<p>Purdue Calumet will be back in action this Saturday, April 7, when it travels to Elgin, Ill. for a conference match against Judson University.</p>

<p><strong>RENSSELAER, Ind. –</strong> The Purdue University Calumet women’s tennis team claimed a 7-2 victory over CCAC rival Calumet St. Joseph in the team’s opening match of the St. Joseph’s Fall Invitational on Saturday. The Black and Gold (1-3) would close out the day against the host St. Joseph’s Pumas, falling 9-0.<span id="more-324"></span></p>
<p>Sarah Hojnicki won the first match of her collegiate career in the Calumet St. Joseph Contest, posting a 10-4 win in the tiebreaker to defeat Ashley Cherry at No. 1 singles. Alyssa Hojnicki and Kristina Davison each recorded their first collegiate singles victories as well with straight-set wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Jamie Pittman and Sarah Storm also won for the first time this year, doing so in dramatic fashion, 9-8 (9-7).</p>
<p>Davison led Purdue Calumet in the second match of the afternoon, winning four games before falling in No. 6 singles play. Alyssa Hojnicki added two games in No. 5 singles, while Lauren Innes and Kara Buchholz won five games in No. 3 doubles action.</p>
<p>The match wraps up the fall schedule for the Peregrines, who will pick up action next spring once the CCAC schedule swings into full force.</p>

<p>Jamie Pittman and Felicia Deardorff each won four games for the Black and Gold, before falling 6-2, 6-2 in No. 3 and No. 4 singles action. Alyssa Hojnicki won three games, before losing in straight sets at No. 5 singles. Deardorff and Dawn Jaranowski played a competitive match at No. 2 doubles, dropping an 8-5 decision.</p>
<p>Purdue Calumet will be back in action next weekend, when it faces Prairie State and Judson on back-to-back days in Rensselaer.</p>
