The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program recently was notified by the Commission on Accreditation for Family and Marriage Therapy Education (COAMFTE) of accreditation for a five-year period. Recognized as one of the top MFT master’s programs in the country, it enjoys a 100 percent employment rate for graduates applying for MFT clinical jobs and a 98 percent acceptance rate into MFT doctoral programs.
The Computer Graphics Technology (CGT) program has met initial accreditation from the Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). The Computer Information Technology (CIT) program has received initial accreditation from the Computer Accreditation Commission (CAC). Standards met and exceeded have resulted in unique opportunities for students in both of these areas. Two industry advisory committees lend credence to the quality of Purdue Calumet graduates.
Prof. Tobin writes book about Haiti
Associate professor of Latin American Studies Kathleen Tobin recently authored a book, “Brush with Haiti” about her experiences with this foreign country. Research work and teaching opportunities in Port-au-Prince, both pre- and post- the January 2010 earthquake, provided Prof. Tobin a first-hand view of the country, its people and their educational system. Her profile on this poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere covers the contrast between the United States and this disadvantaged, but hopeful country.
