Faculty research showcase wrap-up
Some 95 poster displays of faculty research were displayed in Alumni Hall at the recent Faculty Research & Scholarship Day.
Hosted and organized by the Purdue Calumet Office of Research and Graduate Studies and Faculty Research Board, awards were given in three categories:
First Time Grant Recipient Awards
(Presented to faculty members who received their first external grant as Principal Investigator at Purdue Calumet):
Alice Anderson, dean, College of Education;Libbie Pelter, associate professor of chemistry;Weihua Ruan, professor of mathematics;Wendy St. Jean, associate professor of history; and Michael Zimmer, associate professor of molecular microbiology & immunology.
Excellence in Sponsored Grants by College
(Awarded to faculty members who received the most external funding in their College last year)
Jane Mutchler, dean, College of Business; Rita Brusca-Vega, associate professor, Dept. of Graduate Studies in Education (College of Education); Chandra Viswanathan, associate professor of civil engineering (College of Engineering, Mathematics & Science); Rebecca Stankowski, executive director of multidisciplinary studies & learning outcomes assessment (College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences); Lynn Olszewski, director, NW Indiana Area Health (College of Nursing); and Susan Scachitti, department head & professor, Engineering Technology (College of Technology).
