APSAC update

Tech Tuesdays to continue

By SHELLY ROBINSON
Director of Career Services

The Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (APSAC) promotes the interests of Administrative and Professional (AP) staff at Purdue University Calumet, as well as advocates for important issues.

This fall, APSAC introduced “Tech Tuesdays”, a time for staff to learn tips and hints in regard to technical programs they use every day.  Due to the success of these professional development opportunities, the program will continue in the spring.  APSAC invites everyone to mark their calendars for Feb. 19 and March 19.  Topics will be announced in the upcoming weeks, but some of the requests from participants include: Prezi, Qualtrics, and more Excel.  If you have a suggestion on an upcoming topic, please contact any APSAC representative.

Also coming up Jan. 30 is the Mid-year Convocation Breakfast.  Speakers will include Chancellor Keon, Shelly L. Robinson (APSAC Chair), Ken Johnston (Budget Update), Martha Lowry (Wellness), Mary Beth Rincon (Human Resources Update), and our special guest Lowell Cane (Director of  the LGTBQ Center at Purdue University).  Immediately following the breakfast, staff will have the opportunity to attend a Resource Fair to gather information about benefits and graduate programs.
