Placement Tests May Be Taken ONLY ONE TIME By:
- Students with experience in French or Spanish
- Students with some knowledge in German
- Students pursuing a double major or a minor in a foreign language
Testing Information:
- Photo ID Required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- Testing Services Center, Lawshe 118, (219) 989-2504
- No appointment is needed (Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
- Once the semester begins students enrolled in basic language courses can only take the placement test during the first week of classes and not thereafter
Foreign Language Testing FAQs:
- Eligible courses for French or Spanish include Levels I – IV
- Eligible courses for German include Levels I – III
- Student’s test score will determine placement
- Student is then required to take and successfully pass a higher-level course in the same language
- Upon completion, student must contact the FLL Department located in CLO 313 or via telephone at (219) 989-2632 in order for the credits to be applied
