TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language):
- The Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) is the worlds most widely accepted English language test. The Testing Center administers the TOEFL to students during the year on specific national testing dates set by the testing organization.
- The TOEFL measures a student’s ability to read, write, and speak English.
- The Testing Center offers the Internet-based version of the test, which has four sections: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The test takes four hours to complete.

The Testing Center lab for the TOEFL is located at our Academic Learning Center (ALC) in Crown Point, IN. We no longer offer the test on the Purdue Calumet Hammond campus. The ALC is located at:

To register for the TOEFL, please visit the Educational Testing Service website at www.ets.org/toefl. This website offers many resources for test takers in preparing for exams as well. Fees for registration are listed here as well, with the general cost being about $170 for the exam.
