Dr. Niaz Latif to serve as the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor of Research and Graduate Studies

Dr. Niaz Latif will serve as the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor of Research and Graduate Studies. In this role, he will provide leadership that is consistent with University’s strategic vision for the following four distinct areas: Graduate Programs, Sponsored Research, Undergraduate Student Research, and oversight of the three federally funded institution level research centers: CIVS, the Water Institute, and the Energy Center. He will oversee the graduate education activities pertaining to: new degree programs and courses, admissions and records operations, and Academic Learning Partner (ALP) operations. In the area of sponsored research, he will oversee the faculty development activities for grants and contracts, pre-award and post-award support for sponsored research. Additionally, Dr. Latif will work with the Research Board on developing research related policy and procedure recommendations to Senior Leadership and review of University Centers.

Dr. Latif will continue to be the Dean of the School of Technology while serving in the Interim assignment.
