Admission Requirements

Unconditional admission will be based on the following criteria and documentation:

  • Successful candidates for graduate admission include promising applicants who (1) have earned baccalaureate degrees from colleges or universities of recognized standing, (2) have completed studies equivalent to those required of Purdue University baccalaureate recipients, and (3) have earned a B or better average in their undergraduate major.
  • Appropriate experience as documented in a resume.
  • A goal statement from the applicant commensurate with the program proposal and faculty strengths.
  • Three letters of recommendation from academic or professional references.

Students who do not meet the requirements for unconditional admission may be considered for conditional admission.

Conditional students must submit:

  • Official transcripts of undergraduate work
  • Statement of purpose
  • Resume
  • Three letters of recommendation from academic or professional references.

GRE is not required for the MS Technology degree, but may be considered for those applicants who do not meet the minimum GPA for unconditional admission.

International Students:
There are additional requirements for international students. International students are encouraged to work through International Student Services, www.purduecal.edu/international

International applicants must submit:

  • Online application
  • Two (2) official true and attested copies of academic transcripts from all universities listed on your application, with true and attested English translations. In most cases, the Graduate School will not accept a 3-year baccalaureate degree. The Graduate School will also require your original diploma or grant of degree, and a true and attested English translation of your diploma or grant of degree.
  • Statement of purpose
  • Resume
  • Three letters of recommendation from academic or professional references.
  • TOEFL scores: Official copy of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum required score. For the TOEFL, the minimum required score is 550 paper, 213 computer-based, or 77 Internet based. In addition to the overall required score, applicants must also meet the following required minimum scores: reading, 19; listening , 14; speaking, 18; writing, 18. For IELTS, the minimum requirement score is 6.5. The above scores must be no more than 24 months old at the time the application credentials are reviewed. Recommendation Letters:
