College Entry Test Preparatory Sessions

A series of college entry test preparation sessions will be offered by Purdue University Calumet’s Office of Educational Talent Search, beginning Tuesday (4/16).

The free sessions are scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., April 16, 23, 25, and 30. The sessions, geared to high school students, are designed to provide participants techniques for preparing for college entry tests like the ACT and SAT, opportunities to complete practice tests, and access to online tutoring throughout the week. College Board resources and materials will be used during the sessions. Pre-registration is required and can be accomplished by phoning Purdue Calumet’s Office of Educational Talent Search at 219/989-2460 or 800/HI-PURDUE, ext. 2460.

An Exciting Two-Day College Visit

Visit Indiana’s first college and one of the oldest in America, Vincennes University and Indiana State University during its Sycamore Preview Day Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, 2013. The overnight trip will include college academic sessions and campus tours. Join Educational Talent Search Monday, December 17, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for a mid-year Informational Session where we will provide updates about upcoming events like the middle school December cultural outing, the middle school summer residential program entitled Project Excel, senior pre-college activities, tutoring, College 101 course information for participants in grades 9-11, SAT and ACT preparation workshops, college tours, Reality Store 2013, and many more highlights. Also, please bring your success stories to share with your peers as we complete your graduation plans and needs assessments. Parents and guardians, we hope you can join us. Don’t miss this one hour event Monday, December 17, 2012, at the Purdue University Calumet University Village Room 334 Phase II.

Two exciting events are fast approaching: The African American Student Achievement Council’s Kick-off event on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at beautiful Lemon Lake Park and the Central Midwest College Fair at Purdue University Calumet on Thursday, September 20, 2012. Educational Talent Search academic enrichment program for Grades 6-8 is July 16-20

Purdue University Calumet’s Educational Talent Search program is hosting its annual academic summer enrichment program, “Project Excel”, July 16-20 on campus.

Students in grades sixth, seventh and eighth who have completed an Educational Talent Search individual educational plan for services are eligible.

Each participant will receive a free breakfast and lunch each day throughout the program. Purdue Calumet Educational Talent Search is a Summer Food Service program sponsor.

Educational Talent Search is a federally-funded TRIO educational opportunity program. Program participation requirements, including all activities are rendered to all participants regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
