Led by high-quality faculty partnering with business and industry, Purdue Calumet is widely recognized as a leader in experiential education.
Holistic approach to serving students
The Purdue University Calumet 2013-2018 Strategic Plan (PDF) expands upon the success of our experiential learning focus. Recognizing that well-rounded individuals are best prepared to enter the world of work or graduate school, the plan advocates a holistic approach to serving students. Purdue Calumet will develop a mentoring culture to benefit students, faculty, and staff, while continually increasing support for faculty research. The plan emphasizes academic excellence, which is at the core of all we do at Purdue Calumet.
Advancing economic development
The university plays an important role in economic development in Northwest Indiana. We offer intellectual and technological resources to solve business problems and attract new industry. Purdue Calumet will continue to foster relationships that advance the university as well as the community, through economic development; student, faculty and staff engagement; outreach activities; and fundraising.
Four interconnected goals
The Strategic Plan is based upon four interconnected goals:
- Academic Excellence
- Learning through Engagement and Discovery
- Community and Business Partnerships
