Dear Purdue Calumet Faculty, Staff, and Students:
We are excited to announce a Celebration of Innovation through a number of events at the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS), Purdue University Calumet on Thursday, November 29, 2012 (see flyer below).
The day will kick off at 8:30 am with an Award Ceremony, where the CIVS will receive the trophy for the 2012 Chanute Prize. This prize is given by the Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana in recognition for outstanding team innovation. All are invited to join Chancellor Keon, Vice Chancellor Rogers, and the CIVS team to celebrate this recognition of Purdue Calumet’s innovation. The ceremony will be followed by a Student Research Showcase with posters and interactive demos.
A Coffee Hour will be held at noon to introduce Purdue Calumet’s new Masters of Science degree in Modeling, Simulation & Visualization (MSMSV). This degree is interdisciplinary in nature and is the first of its kind in Indiana. CIVS will serve as the laboratory for the required Directed Project courses. Examples of student projects and more information on MSMSV will be presented in the afternoon.
