Frequently Asked Questions About Tutoring
Q. What does a tutor do?
A. Tutors are peers, often upperclassmen, who have extensive knowledge in a subject matter. Tutors provide additional instruction and help students analyze and think. A tutor DOES NOT do a student’s work for him or her.
Q. What subjects can I get tutoring in?
A. Students are tutored in core subjects such as math, science, and foreign language. If your available times conflict with the open lab tutoring schedule or if you feel that you need additional help, speak with the receptionist in Gyte 102.
Q. Where do I go for tutoring?
A. At ARC, we have open lab tutoring, which means students can walk in to any of the tutoring sessions without an appointment. Tutors are normally scheduled in the following rooms Gyte 104, 106, and 071.
Q. Is private one-on-one tutoring available?
