Human Resources reviews Form 10 and classifies position and finalizes pay for staff positions

Once the Position Description (Form 10) and Form 9 has been received by Human Resources, HR will review all new or updated position descriptions to identify and/or confirm the position’s classification and exemption status.
A Nine Factor Evaluation System (NIFES) is used to determine appropriate classification level for Clerical, Service and Operations Assistant positions.
Clerical and Service positions use a standard pay scale to determine level of compensation.
The Fair Labor Standards Act and University Policy is used to determine the classification of Operations Assistant, Administrative/Professional and Management Professional classification. CUPA-HR Salary Survey data as well as internal equity is used to determine compensation.
