Valparaiso | Wade Breitzke, the NW-ISBDC’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year, is being recognized in a statewide spotlight.
The president of 27 Entertainment and We Create Media has been named SBA’s Indiana Young Entrepreneur of the Year, building on the 2012 Entrepreneurial Excellence Award honor.
“Obviously, it’s a big honor and we are really excited to know we are heading in the right direction and making strides to be recognized at such a level,” Breitzke said. “It inspires us to do more and be better at what we do. We want to be held at this type of standard at all times. It is just the beginning for us.”
“We are thrilled to see our E-Day honoree in the state spotlight,” said Lorri Feldt, regional director of the NW-ISBDC. “Wade is a talented individual who is making a mark as a young entrepreneur in the region and beyond.”
Breitzke is fostering growth along two avenues with the different businesses. At 27 Entertainment, the focus is on weddings, parties and other private events. They provide DJ, video and lighting services as well as live entertainment options with musicians on staff.
We Create Media centers around the commercial side and branding businesses.
“We are incredibly excited about increasing our growth as 27 Entertainment is laying the foundation for our new business. I brought in a business partner, Jeremy Bustos at We Create Media,” Breitzke said. “He is a nationally recognized photographer. He has done some amazing work and he brings a lot of experience and incredible talent.
“We produce videos, photography and design for business. We are bringing a national level branding opportunity to local businesses.”
Between both businesses, there are eight full-time and 21 part-time employees as well as interns helping throughout the summer. Breitzke also has expanded the businesses to two main locations in Valparaiso: 112 Lincolnway concentrates on the 27 Entertainment side with a consultation space for private-event focused clients and1150 W. Lincolnway is for We Create Media’s commercial clients and a base for employees.
“All of our commercial work moved to the new company and we expanded so that we can differentiate between the (private event and commercial) sides,” he said.
Breitzke is looking forward to expanding even more in the future including plans for a satellite office in South Bend.
“We have brought in new staff and we are starting to train them and develop them to become self-sustaining satellite offices,” he said.
