My current research focus concerns evidence-based quality improvement in a variety of nurse practice settings. Specifically, I am interested in ways to support nurses to provide safe, high quality, patient-centered care. Nurses work in complicated environments that are often chaotic. A critical need exists to find ways to support nurses in their goal of providing quality care. Critical to this end is the need to grow knowledge and evidence in implementation science. Implementation science is the art and science of knowing what works for getting evidence into practice and sustaining the change. Another aspect of my scholarship involves training health care providers on systematic review methodology through the Indiana Center for Evidence Based Nursing Practice, a Joanna Briggs Collaborating Center.
