PUC school of nursing sponsored their 9th Healthy Kids Clinic. The clinic is now held annually in the early fall in collaboration with Hammond Head Start and Purdue Calumet School of Nursing. This year, in addition to serving Hammond Head Start families, the one day clinic was offered to Hammond School children as well as Purdue Calumet athletes.

The clinic provided physical exams, immunizations, dental screenings, vision and hearing screenings for children from 3 to 18 years of age. This year 56 children and young adults came to the one day clinic. School and athletic physicals were provided by eleven Graduate Nursing students, supervised by PUC rofessors Chris Reid, Susan Bulchholz, and Nancy Hayes. Ancillary services were offered through Hammond Head Start, Hammond Health Department, Purdue University Calumet’s School of Nursing and Dr. Logman,DDS. The next Healthy Kids Clinic will be scheduled for the fall of 2007.
