Four Nursing Teams receive Undergraduate Research Awards
Congratulations to four teams of our nursing students who have been granted Spring 2013 Undergraduate Research Awards! The award funds up to $600 for group projects in order to cover research expenses for a research project that a PUC student conducts with a PUC faculty mentor.

They will present their research during the Spring 2013 Student Research Day and at the School of Nursing Capstone Poster Session on April 29th.

On Tuesday, June 12, 2012, PUC hosted a nurse camp for northwest Indiana high school students. Purdue Cal Nursing students taught the nurse camp students about taking blood pressures, testing blood sugars, measurement of temperature and pulse, infection control, preventing summer injuries, nutritional concerns for patients with diabetes and heart disease, giving injections, general assessment of patients, and providing first aid. There were 9 nurse camp students and 15 nursing students. Feedback indicates that the day was beneficial for all involved.
