Sponsored Programs Office Mission

Sponsored Programs, within the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, provides proposal processing and grant account management services to faculty, staff, and students in a customer-service, compliance-focused environment.

The creative discovery, learning, and engagement projects of Purdue faculty are central components of the mission and strategic plan of the University.  We strive to ensure sponsored programs compliance with Federal, State, sponsor, and University policies, while providing the best customer service possible.

The Sponsored Programs Office focuses on:

  • Ensuring grant opportunities are in compliance with Federal, Sponsor, and University guidelines and communicating these guidelines to the University faculty and staff
  • Training faculty on best practices in proposal preparation
  • Preparing University documentation required for proposal submission
  • Assisting faculty and staff with proposal budget development
  • Maintaining documentation on proposal submissions
  • Serving as a liaison between Principal Investigators and the SPS office
  • Setting up and closing grant accounts
  • Training faculty and staff on grant account management
  • Ensuring the grants are in compliance with Federal, State, and University policies
  • Approving expenditures on grants managing Personnel Activity Reports
  • Maintaining administrative grant records
