Small businesses can benefit this fall
from Purdue Calumet SBI consulting services
Purdue University Calumet’s College of Business is offering free consulting assistance this fall to northwest Indiana small businesses.
Three to four member teams
Consulting teams of three or four members comprised of senior students enrolled in Purdue Calumet’s Small Business Consulting course, as well as faculty members and advisors are available during the upcoming fall semester, which begins Aug. 19, to work with client companies and provide consulting services.
Each consulting team agrees to produce a formal report that focuses on solutions to key challenges/problems identified by the business client.
The consulting assistance is part of Purdue Calumet’s experiential learning initiative, in which students apply classroom knowledge in a real world environment. More than 100 small businesses have utilized this service.
Qualified clients must be located within reasonable driving distance of Purdue Calumet’s Hammond campus and have operated as an employer of full time employees at a physical location for at least two years. Additionally, client owners must commit to working openly and diligently with their consulting team.
“The quality and usefulness of the final consulting findings and recommendations depend largely on the cooperation, involvement and support of the client business owners,” Purdue Calumet Small Business Institute Director and Professor of Entrepreneurship Jamaluddin Husain said. “For business clients to benefit from our service, it is extremely important that they willingly share information with our consulting teams.”
Small business owners can learn more about the SBI consulting assistance by contacting Prof. Husain at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning him at 773/531-4000.
