High school students invited to explore
careers in engineering technology this summer

To acquaint high school students with job and career opportunities in fields of engineering technology, Purdue University Calumet’s School of Technology is hosting a free summer workshop, Wednesday afternoons, June 12 through July 31.

Eight Sessions

Eight sessions are scheduled on campus from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The workshop is designed to enable participants to explore electrical, mechanical and mechatronics engineering technology disciplines and related baccalaureate degree study programs.

Middle school students with a letter of recommendation from a teacher or principal also will be accepted.

Successful Alumni

Purdue Calumet engineering technologist alumni hold such jobs as: designers and developers of mechanical and electronic products and systems; manufacturers of mobile transportation vehicles/autos; utility providers; and packaging, logistics and manufacturing professionals.

“The job outlook in engineering technology is expected to be excellent for the next 15 years,” Purdue Calumet Engineering Technology Advisor Ed Perosky said.
