Purdue Calumet hosts summer education

Opportunities for middle and high school students to stay engaged educationally during the summer is the focus of a free Summer Programs Exhibition at Purdue University Calumet Tuesday (2/26).

The 90-minute event, intended for students and parents, begins at 5 p.m. in Alumni Hall of the university’s Student Union & Library. Barry Tyler, program manager of the Legacy Foundation of Northwest Indiana, is the featured speaker.

Encouraging parents

The Summer Programs Exhibition is intended to encourage parents to help their sons and daughters engage in fun and educational activities during the summer. Programming resources will be provided, as well as strategies to help parents seek and identify appropriate summer programming opportunities.

Representatives of summer educational programs will be present, including those from Purdue Calumet, Purdue West Lafayette and Indiana University.

The Summer Programs Exhibition is sponsored by Purdue Calumet’s Educational Talent Search Office in partnership with the Legacy Foundation of Northwest Indiana.
