Start-up companies can hire Purdue Calumet
summer interns at fraction of cost
Indiana high-tech start-up companies can hire Purdue University Calumet student interns to work this summer at a fraction of compensation cost through the Purdue Interns for Indiana program.
Employers must be able to define and manage an appropriate and challenging internship experience, provide entrepreneurial opportunities through regular in-person interactions and pay a $2,000 fee that would be applied to the student stipend.
Qualified juniors and seniors
Qualified junior and senior students would receive a $4,500 stipend for 400 hours of work over 10 weeks.
“We believe placing high quality student interns with start-up companies can accelerate company growth, while at the same time provide students with valuable educational experiences,” Purdue Calumet Director of Career Services Shelly Robinson said. “It’s a win-win situation.”
The matching program, supported through the Lilly Endowment, seeks to enable high quality students to gain valuable experience with start-up companies eager to accelerate growth. The program is open to students from all academic major programs of study to meet a wide array of company needs.
Companies can obtain more information and apply to participate online. Though the application deadline is March 6, company needs will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
