Purdue Calumet professor delivers keynote address at international conference

Purdue University Calumet Professor of Communication Yahya Kamalipour delivered the keynote address at the recent international Global Communication Association conference, held recently in the southern African nation of Zambia.

Kamalipour, also head of Purdue Calumet’s Department of Communication and Creative Arts, is founder and director of the Global Communication Association. At the conference, he discussed the history and accomplishments of the not-for-profit GCA, which connects international researchers and professionals who seek to advance information about practices, strategies and trends in global culture, media, politics and economics.

Another Purdue Calumet faculty member, Associate Professor of Political Science Richard Rupp, presented at the conference a paper titled, “Obama and Africa: Change and Continuity in American Foreign Policy.”

Kamalipour, a Munster resident, has served at Purdue Calumet since 1986. Rupp is a Chicago resident and has been a Purdue Calumet faculty member since 1998.
