LAUW pledging/gifts up 25 percent at Purdue Calumet

Purdue University Calumet closed 2011 by celebrating a 25 percent increase in contributions to its annual Lake Area United Way campaign.

Faculty, staff and students generated $22,235.56 in pledges and gifts during the recently completed fall campaign. The total includes a campus record-setting $1,648.14 in cash raised by students and student organizations via campus ‘penny wars.’

A campus committee, co-directed by Vice Chancellor for Advancement Daniel Hendricks and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Ralph Rogers and spearheaded by University Relations secretary Karen Holland and University Village student residence clerk Ila Muller, managed the campaign.
