“Our Shared Responsibility” for cyber security is the focus of a Purdue University Calumet panel presentation, Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 11:30 a.m., in the Student Union & Library’s Calumet Falls.
The free presentation will feature university faculty and staff experts, as well as community members discussing cyber infrastructure and how private citizens, business and government entities alike share responsibility for securing the internet through the computers, devices and networks they use.
Following the panel presentation will be a question & answer period. Light refreshments will be served.
According to Purdue Calumet Assistant Director for Information Security and Assurance James Pardonek, better understanding is necessary of how individual actions can collectively affect cyber security and internet protection.
The presentation is part of Purdue Calumet’s observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The observance seeks to increase awareness of how home users, schools, businesses and governments can better protect their computers, children and data.
