Business Plan Course for local entrepreneurs is April 14, 21 & 28

Helping aspiring entrepreneurs develop a successful business plan is the focus of a comprehensive, three-part Business Plan Course Purdue University Calumet’s Center for Entrepreneurship Success is offering beginning April 14.

The course is designed to be a guide to best practices for researching, developing and writing an effective business plan. Additionally, the course will cover how to secure financing, real estate, and other necessities of a fledgling operation; understanding the market; overcoming competition from similar businesses; and setting attainable goals for growth and development.

Managing Director of Purdue Calumet’s Center for Entrepreneurship Success Dushan Nikolovski will lead each of the course’s three sessions, which are intended to teach attendees important aspects of developing a business plan. Subject matter to be covered at each session is as follows:

• April 14 — Developing an idea and company structure;

• April 21 — Cultivating marketing and financial plans; and

• April 28 — Securing funding for a business, establishing a plan of operation, and finalizing a business plan.

Each three-hour session begins at 6 p.m. at the Center for Entrepreneurship Success, located one and one-quarter mile west of campus at 1247 169th Street. Advance registration cost is $99.
