Purdue University Calumet’s annual Fall Frolic 4-mile run/1.5-mile walk will be held Sunday (11/8) at 9 a.m. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in the gymnasium, located in the Fitness & Recreation Center at the south end of campus, south of 173rd Street.
Part of the Gold Cup series, the run offers a flat, fast track through neighborhood streets adjacent to Purdue Calumet’s Hammond campus. The registration fee is $20 for runners and $15 for walkers. All participants will receive a long sleeved, race T-shirt.
This year’s run has been renamed the Fall Frolic/Jennie Hamilton Memorial 4-Mile Run in honor of a Purdue Calumet fitness management graduate who was killed in a tragic accident in 2006 while training for the Ironman Triathlon. Proceeds from this year’s event will provide support for a Purdue Calumet scholarship established in her name by her family and friends.
Other race information is available by phoning Purdue Calumet’s Fitness Center at 219/989-2175 or 800/HI-PURDUE, ext. 2175; or by visiting http://www.pucraces.com.
