Student Clubs

The Department of Marketing, HR, and Management houses four outstanding student clubs.  Involvement in student organizations is an excellent complement to the academic experience found at a university. Joining an organization helps students develop networking and leadership skills that will be invaluable to their education and their future.

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)

This organization’s purpose is to provide and promote a better understanding of the functions and values of Human Resource Management. The group informs students of current developments in the field and endeavors to develop a nucleus of truly professional human resource managers. Emphasis is on developing the individual abilities of its members and promoting fellowship and the free exchange of ideas.

Purdue University Marketing Association (PUMA)

Purdue University Marketing Club’s primary purpose is to assist in the broadening of students’ knowledge of the different facets of marketing through networking and community-building opportunities.  PUMA also serves as an outlet for students’ creativity, encouraging leadership and a persistent examination of the origins, and results of change in fields including Marketing, Advertising, Market Research, Retailing, Sales, and Consumer Behavior.

Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization (CEO)

The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) is part of a national initiative to inform, support, and inspire college students to become entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation. PUC’s CEO has been established to bring together students who have an interest in exploring the word of entrepreneurship as a possible career option. The primary purpose is to provide members with opportunities to periodically meet with and gain inspiration from entrepreneurs of Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area.

Advertising Club – Agency 429

Agency 429, Purdue University Calumet’s Advertising Club, is a student run agency focused on portfolio development, competing in national advertising competitions such as the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) and the ADDYs, peer networking, internship coordination, and learning from industry experts from various Chicagoland advertising, digital, and media agencies.
