On Tuesday, October 27, 2009, Dr. Derek Ruth gave an excellent presentation of his research work entitled “Functional Heterogeneity, Unmet Sales-Growth Expectations, & Interpersonal Conflict in New Venture Teams.” His research seeks to address the question of how firm performance and team diversity affect team conflict.

We are pleased to announce that Prof. John Lucas, and his co-author Prof. Jon Furdek, have won a Best Paper Award for their paper entitled “Did the Labor Agreements Between UAW and the Big Three Automakers Work?”. The paper was presented at the European Applied Business Research Conference in Prague, Czech Republic in June, 2009. Congratulations John and Jon!

Professor Charles Rarick and Professor Kasia Firlej have been appointed as Editor and Associate Editor, respectively, for the Academy of Strategic Management Journal. Professor Arifin Angriawan has also been appointed to the Editorial Board of the same journal. The Academy of Strategic Management Journal is published by the Allied Academies, but the Editorial Board is independent of that body and exercises control over the editorial content. The Journal is currently published twice annually. Authors of manuscripts are invited to make direct submissions at any time.
