The Department of Marketing, Human Resources, and Management was pleased to honor this year’s outstanding students at the Chancellor’s reception on Sunday, March 6, 2011
Ashley Woodfaulk: Senior
Ashley Woodfaulk is an outstanding student majoring in Human Resource Management and leader in the SHRM club on campus. She had a very productive internship for the Gary community School Corporation and has participated in the HR regional conference in West Lafayette, the Breast Cancer Walk, and the “I Need a Hug” teddy bear event here on campus.
Elizabeth Diane Alvarez: Senior
Elizabeth Alvarez is an outstanding student majoring in Marketing. Liz’s determination and high-level quality of work stood are obvious to all of her professors. The work she submitted often went above and beyond what was expected, evidence of her incredible work ethic. She has also shown an amazing ability to overcome both educational and personal obstacles, and was an example to other students in many instances. The project Liz and her group executed for her experiential learning leadership class was not only a tremendous service to the community, but it also made the client very excited about what PUC students can provide.
Cory Saxma: Senior
Cory Saxma is an outstanding student majoring in Marketing. The faculty note that Cory is one of those students you love to have in class. He has a natural ability to put others in the class at ease, and often exceeds requirements through his creativity. He has a very fun and engaging air about him, each keeps the classroom discussion inclusive, humorous and lively. He is truly a leader who has strong social and political skills. He’s always willing to speak up and contribute, and he usually does.
Sean Dotson: Senior
Sean Dotson is an outstanding student majoring in Human Resource Management. His faculty note that Sean is an exemplary classroom performer. He is relaxed, amiable, and pleasant. He is articulate in making his points, which are well-reasoned, and he has a sense of humor
Jessica Cortez: Senior
Jessica Cortez is an outstanding student majoring in Human Resource Management. Jessica is a very strong student, humble, and, has worked hard to improve her situation by earning a college degree.
Nalewski, Christi: Senior
Christi Nalewski is an outstanding student majoring in Marketing. Her professors say that she is a very bright and dedicated individual. Prof. Mich attests that the quality work she consistently presented in the Personal Selling course contributed to her team’s winning the Fall 2010 Sales Competition.
Valle, Alexis: Senior
Alexis Valle is an outstanding student majoring in Marketing. Alexis is probably one of the very few students who Prof. Husain has have invited to speak to his classes, with her father, to talk about her (and her family’s) entrepreneurial experiences. She is a wonderful student and is very actively involved in PUC sports.
Zilz, Janice: Senior
Janice Zilz is an outstanding student majoring in Human Resource Management. Her professors describe her as one of the most dedicated student that they have come across. In spite of her family and health challenges she was always on top of all requirement and responsibilities. She helped the then-struggling PUC student organization “CEO” become more organized & ready for growth.
Ameyedowo, Bernice: Senior
Bernice Ameyedowo is an outstanding student majoring in Human Resource Management. She is always very actively involved in class-room discussions, and beyond. She is an extremely energetic and creative person who is poised to achieve distinctions in life.
Stephanie Wahlberg: Senior
Stephanie Wahlberg is an outstanding student majoring in Entrepreneurship. She was a very consistent and dedicated student, actively participating in class discussion. She went above and beyond when she volunteered to write two extra papers on important international business topics. She deserves special recognition and she is a model to other students.
Jacob Thomas: Junior
Jacob Thomas is an outstanding student majoring in Marketing. Jacob has shown great interest in discussing management issues. He showed excellent understanding of the subject matter; he was well prepared and continuously shared his ideas and insight with the class. His participation and interest in the material was inspiring .
