Advising
The mechanical and civil engineering department offers academic advising that provides individual attention to our students. Our advising goal is to ensure each student’s academic success as well as establish the path to a rewarding career.
Our freshman advisor is Mr. William Baginski. He is an expert in all freshman-related matters, including admission requirements, test scores, first year required courses, transfer, etc.
Our advisor for sophomore-senior is Dr. Yeow Siow. He is a specialist in first-year experience (FYE) courses and he teaches gateway engineering courses such as statics, dynamics and thermodynamics. Combined with his previous industry experience as a senior engineer, he is able to provide comprehensive advising that is both academic- and career-focused.
Advising hours vary throughout the semester. During registration weeks (March & October), students are required to make appointments to see either advisor. Appointment details will be posted here prior to registration period. During non-registration weeks, student visits are always welcome.
