We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to study abroad in Chile. A planned itinerary is linked to this proposal. You will see that we have included a blend of both academic/business activities with cultural activities. This course will be offered for academic credit toward your plan of study. You will earn three (3) credits for your successful completion of this course.
Dates: Sunday, November 15th to Sunday, November 22nd, 2009.
Cost: In addition to regular tuition, the program cost for the trip is $1,520, plus airfare. Airfare is estimated at $1,000. This program will include all transportation once participants arrive at the airport, all breakfasts and meals detailed in the itinerary, hotels, fees, and venues.
You will also be responsible for ensuring you have a valid U.S passport and for paying the country entry fee of $131 when we arrive to Chile.
Class Sessions: We will have one pre-trip session that all participants will be expected to attend. These will occur on Saturday. We will provide you with pre-readings and other material to prepare you for your visit. You will also be expected to attend all sessions while in Chile.
Assessment: As you will be receiving course credit for this program as part of your MBA & MAcc studies, there will be a 5000 word essay required of each participant. We will ask you to integrate what you learn with one of your prior classes or with what is happening in your industry. This will be due December 4, 2009. No grade will be issued without successful completion of this assignment.
Commitment: If you decide to participate in this course, we will ask you to confirm your commitment with a non-refundable $500 deposit to secure your spot. This will be due Friday, May 29th, 2009. The remainder of your non-refundable trip fee will be paid in two installments (August and October). Your regular tuition is, of course, due before the fall semester begins. All payments will be made to Purdue University Calumet. Airfare will be handled separately.
