One of the most convenient transportation services available to international students is traveling by bus. In addition to the Peregrine Express, the free shuttle service exclusively for Purdue Calumet, students also have access to the Northwest Indiana Regional Bus Authority (RBA).
Earlier this month, the RBA started a new bus service to Hammond, Lake, and Porter counties. The new buses are called “Easygo” and operate on extended hours from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. The buses are newer and more reliable than in recent years. The new regional routes allow commuters to travel from city to city in Northwest Indiana, as well as Chicago destinations.
The two routes that service Purdue Calumet best are the Green Route (171st Woodmar Avenue) and the Blue Route (169th / 173rd Streets). For more information, time schedules and other routes, please click here.
