Indianapolis alumni gather June 24
Chancellor Howard Cohen meets with PUC Indianapolis area School of Education alumni.
Fifty Purdue Calumet alumni and guests gathered at the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s Garden Terrace to network with classmates and gain an update about their alma mater.
Chuck Bublitz (Electronic Technology 1973) chaired the planning committee that included Raquel Garcia (HTM 1998), Ernest Hopson (Tech 1992), Fred Isban (Tech 1964) Chris Kosovich (Comm 1999), and Brian Poe (Tech 1995).
In his remarks, Chancellor Howard Cohen discussed record enrollment last academic year, the opening of the second University Village residential facility and plans for expanding the university’s athletics program. Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Diana Virijevich invited attendees to return to campus Sept. 23-25 for Purdue Calumet’s first Back to School weekend.
Attendees represented each of the university’s six academic schools and spanned four decades—from 1964 to 2005. With more than 500 Purdue Calumet alumni residing in the Indianapolis area, the INDY planning committee is back at work planning future events and activities for local alumni. Indianapolis area alumni interested in assisting with future events are invited to contact firstname.lastname@example.org or the Purdue Calumet Office of Alumni Relations at 219/989-2308.
