James Tagliareni (Electrical Engineering Technology) BS, this year celebrated 40 years working with Lockheed-Martin. He has worked on Viking, Space Shuttle, Titan, etc. James has been married to his wife Lucinda for 23 years and they have twin 17 year old boys.

Paul Polak


Paul Polak (Biological Sciences) BS, recently presented results of work connecting the locus ceruleus involvement in Multiple Sclerosis at annual meeting of the American Society of Neurochemistry in Santa Fe, NM. These data reveal for the first time that noradrenergic neuronal damage occurs in EAE and possibly in MS and suggests that perturbation of NA levels could contribute to pathology in these diseases.


Sharon Raucci (Whitehead) (Building Construction Technology) BS, Rosenberg, TX, is a Senior Cost Engineer for Bechtel, working in the Houston office for the Oil, Gas & Chemical entity. She is currently working on a Liquidified Natural Gas (LNG) project to be built in Australia. Sharon has been with Bechtel for 18+ of the 29 years since graduating from PUC.


Karen Yehle (Nursing) BS, West Lafayette, IN, was inducted into the Book of Great Teachers, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.

Rebecca Jeche (Gaik) (Food Service & Lodging) AS, currently works for Marriott’s Mountain Valley Lodge in Breckenridge, CO, a MVCI Vacationclub, as the Front Office Manager.

David Novak (History) BA, attorney with the Merrillville law firm of Schlyer & Associates, P.C. received the Merrillville Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassador of the Year Award from Chairman of the Board, Hyon Kwak. David also received the Ambassador of the Fourth Quarter as well.


Vanessa Allen (Education) MSED, was appointed president and chief executive officer of the Urban League of Northwest Indiana.


Melissa Yovich-Whattam (Communication) MA, was promoted to Director of Enrollment Communications for Aurora University (Aurora, Lake Geneva and Woodstock campuses).


Jonathan Swindle (Biology) MS, will be completing fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma surgery in July 2010. At the completion of the fellowship, Jonathan will begin employment at the Carle Clinic in Urbana, IL.


Randolph Mannion (Management) MBA, 2004, (Engineering) MSE 2002, BSE 1983, is presently working as an Engineer at Communications Test Design, Inc. in Elgin, IL.
