Installing MatchWare MindView 4.0

The following instructions pertain to Windows 7 Workstations and Windows XP on the STAFF domain.
Instructions:
Open the START MENU.
You can go one of two routes to reach the destination. Either place your cursor in the SEARCH BAR, OR choose CONTROL PANEL on the right hand menu.
NOTE: If you are using Windows XP, go through the Control Panel.
If you use the SEARCH BAR type in “install a program from the network”. The search results will update as you type. Choose INSTALL A PROGRAM FROM THE NETWORK from the results.
If you go through the CONTROL PANEL, follow these steps:
If your Control Panel is on “Category View” find and choose GET PROGRAMS.
If you are using Windows XP, choose ADD or Remove Programs
If your Control Panel is in “Icon View”, find and choose PROGRAMS AND FEATURES.
If you are using Windows XP, choose ADD or Remove Programs
Choose INSTALL A PROGRAM FROM THE NETWORK on the left menu.
If you are using Windows XP, choose ADD NEW PROGRAMS.
Both routes will bring you to this window. You should have MatchWare MindView 4.0 listed.
Double click MatchWare MindView 4.0.
The installation should now start.
Click NEXT.
Select the radio button “I accept the license agreement”.
Click NEXT.
Type your name in the “Full Name” field.
Click NEXT.
Make sure that the Destination Folder is as shown in the screencap. It should fill this by default.
Click NEXT.
Make sure TYPICAL is chosen.
Click NEXT.
Click NEXT.
The installation should start. It should take just a few minutes.
Once the installation finishes, click FINISH.
To find the program, open the START MENU.
MindView 4.0 Should be listed in the recent programs list.
If it isn’t, you can choose ALL PROGRAMS.
In the PROGRAMS LIST, You should see a folder that says MatchWare. Click on this folder.
The folder should be expanded and you should see MindView 4.0.
In the PROGRAMS LIST, You should see a folder that says MatchWare. Click on this folder.
The first time you open MindView 4.0 you may be prompted to activate the application.
Please choose to Activate.
Note: If you would like to have quicker access to this program, you can do one (or more) of these options:
- Right Click the program. From the menu choose PIN TO START MENU. This will make sure it is always on the initial start menu when you open it.
- Right Click the program and choose SEND TO, then DESKTOP. This will create a shortcut on your desktop. Please note that you have to choose the one in the programs folder to see this option.
These methods can be used for almost all other programs, too.
