As Market President for Capital One in Central & South Texas, this region encompasses Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley. Mark Koshnick oversees the bank’s community resources and activities designed to help meet the needs of the local community, including philanthropy, volunteerism and community banking products and services. Capital One is the 6th largest bank in the United States, based on deposits and the 9th largest bank in Texas.
Mr. Koshnick also serves as the Commercial Banking lead in all the aforementioned markets as well. In this role, he has partnered with major companies throughout the region on significant commercial development and economic opportunities.
Mr. Koshnick joined Capital One Bank in 2005, bringing more than 17 years of banking and management experience and a longstanding connection to the San Antonio community to his current role. Prior to this role, Mr. Koshnick worked in the commercial banking groups of SouthTrust Bank and Guarantee Bank, while working in the business banking group of Bank of America.
A prominent member of the community, Mark is a member of numerous organizations. Mark serves on the board for the San Antonio Fiesta Commission and Great Wall of China Adoption Agency. He also is a member of the Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation, Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society and the San Antonio Entrepreneurship Institute. In 2008 & 2010, he received the City of San Antonio, Mayor’s Citation of Public Service award.
A native of Schererville, Indiana, Mark holds a B.S. in degree in Hospitality Management & Liberal Arts from Purdue University Calumet. Additionally, Mark has received an executive MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia facilitated through Capital One’s Leadership Academy.
