PUC Career Services: There’s an “App” for that!

Career Services Smartphone Application

Career Services is excited to announce that Career Trax is now available via a new iPhone application. Students and alumni can access the latest career updates, recruiting trends, upcoming events, even job postings from the convenience of their iPhones or iPods. CareerTrax can be downloaded free from the iTunes App store.

With the increased interest in Smart phones, Career Services reached out to the School of Technology to see if there was a class or student group interested in developing their own “app.” Dr. Keyuan Jiang had been looking for a “real” project for students who had expressed interest in learning more about this technology. They eagerly accepted the challenge.

For two semesters four students (Zitao Xiong, Yuying Zheng, Quihao Zhang, Le Zeng) from the School of Technology developed the application and created a customized platform for Career Services. Features include office and staff information, an events calendar, job alerts, news blog, career preparation materials, and words of wisdom from the director of career services. “Both Career Services and the students worked so hard on this project to make this happen” said Dr. Jiang.
