Medical and healthcare professional schools require applicants to take specific prerequisite courses for admission to their programs. Many strongly recommend taking these at accredited 4-year institutions. Whether you are investigating a career change, or trying to lighten your regular school year load with some useful summer courses, Purdue Calumet can help you succeed. The following common pre-health courses are being offered this summer* through the School of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science:

Biological Sciences

Chemistry & Physics

  • General Chemistry I and II with labs
  • Organic Chemistry I and II with lab
  • General Physics I and II

Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics

  • Algebra and Trigonometry I and II
  • Integrated Calculus Analytical Geometry I and II

If you would like to become a Purdue Calumet student for the summer and are interested in taking any of these these courses, apply online [Opens in New Window] or call the Enrollment Service Center at 219-989-2210 for help with admission and registration.
