School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science

STEM is the universally recognized acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. These disciplines form much of the intellectual foundation needed for an advanced society and both President Obama and the National Science Foundation have directly linked the strength of the STEM workforce to our nation’s ability to compete successfully on the world stage of the 21st century. To succeed in this new technologically-confident world, all students must develop their STEM capabilities to levels beyond what was considered acceptable in the past. In response to this need, Purdue has always been a leader in meeting the challenges of a hi- tech, knowledge-based economy and Purdue University Calumet’s special mission is to bring this world-respected expertise home to students and stakeholders in Northwest Indiana. In the School of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (EMS), this expertise is delivered by the internationally-respected faculty of our five departments:

Whether you’re a student ready to begin a lifetime of learning as an undergraduate, a bachelor’s degree holder seeking graduate training for career advancement, or if you’re a potential industrial partner seeking an academic edge; at Purdue University Calumet’s School of EMS our goal is to make your success a reality!
