NCATE Accreditation and Assessment Information

We welcome you to the College of Education at Purdue University Calumet! This website showcases the quality and depth of our programs and faculty members as well as the successes of our candidates. We take special pride in producing well-prepared professional educators, primarily for northwest Indiana and the Chicago metropolitan region.  Our faculty members focus on research that has, in many cases, direct impact on the work of educational professionals in our community, region, and nation.

We are deeply involved in the regional P-12 and higher education community.  All of our programs have significant outreach initiatives that are beneficial both to our programs and candidates and to the practitioners in the field. These include a professional development school initiative for undergraduate teacher preparation.

This website will display assessment information and other crucial information necessary for NCATE accreditation purposes.  All are free to peruse this site and learn about our programs and their success. Please contact us with any questions you may have.

The above data represent pass-rate percentages for each of the licensure programs in the Department of Teacher Preparation (DTP).  All of the secondary programs had fewer than five test takers (English, foreign language, mathematics, science, and social studies) and are not included in this analysis due to the practice of not reporting these low number results by Pearson.  Graduates of the elementary education program averaged over 84% pass rates on the content areas. The five content areas were tested separately. Candidates are also tested on pedagogy.  Elementary education completers averaged over 90% pass rate on the pedagogy exam.  Secondary education completers averaged slightly below the 80% pass rate.

The overall pass rates for the reported data on CORE during 2014-15 are higher than the 80% required for full accreditation (85%, 203/238).
