Educator License Renewal – Renewing Your Indiana Teacher’s License

In Indiana, all licensed educators must renew their license and show continuing learning and involvement in their profession. Purdue University Calumet wants to help teachers, administrators, and other licensed educators reach their goals, learn more, and get the credits they need to renew their licenses through in-class and online coursework.

Office of Educator Licensing and Development (OELD) IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Indiana Department of Education, Office of Educator Licensing and Development has updated their online application process and the new site is up and running. Here is a link to the IDOE webpage that contains a link to LVIS portal, which is the new online application site as well as links to 3 short Webinars that provide short but easy instructions on using the new site:
I would highly recommend you take a few minutes to view the webinars as it will make the application process a bit easier for you.

Just a few changes to highlight:

  • You will create a profile you can update as necessary
  • Instantly upload documents required for licensure during the application process
  • Receive updates on the status of your application by e-mail
  • Receive notification by e-mail that your educator credential is ready to print
  • Pay online with your personal Visa or MasterCard or use a pre-paid Visa or MasterCard purchased from a local retailer

Note: when applying for an original license, you will now upload a copy of your CPR card to your application. No need to bring, fax or email a copy of your card to our office now.

If you are renewing a license with credit hours from PUC we do not need a copy of your transcripts, however, if you do have credits from another university you can upload a copy of those transcript during the application process.

As always, feel free to contact me should you require additional information or assistance.

Thank you,

Liz Kubacki
