The Counseling Center
The Counseling Center is a comprehensive service established to serve the Purdue University Calumet campus community. The Counseling Center’s mission is to encourage, support, and assist students in their educational pursuit by providing a broad range of psychological counseling and educational services to deal with personal, interpersonal, vocational, and academic issues. Counseling services are provided by licensed mental health professionals and are confidential, as protected by law.

The Office of the Dean of Students promotes responsibility, accepting consequences of behavior and encourages honesty, integrity, and respect among members of the Purdue University Calumet community through education, compliance with behavioral standards, and support of individual rights and Students’ Bill of Rights

Housing and Residential Education
The staff in Housing and Residential Education work with residents to promote the development of residential communities in which courtesy, respect, and consideration for others is paramount. The goal is to develop a residential community which supports and enhances the academic mission of the University and promotes a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment, conducive to learning.

The International Affairs Office works directly with the international student population on campus. This office provides mentoring and other types of support and services for international students to help them acclimate to campus life.

Student Health Services Center
The Student Health Services Center (SHSC) at Purdue University Calumet offers students primary care and prevention services. In addition to these services the SHSC also, with the consent of students, works closely with the Counseling Center when medication(s) (psychotropic) are deemed necessary, in addition to counseling. Both the SHSC and the Counseling Center are committed to research which shows medication alone does not provide as successful a treatment as when medication and counseling are combined.

The primary goal of the Office of Disability Resources (ODR) is to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities. Accommodations insure students with disabilities receive equal access and equal opportunity to participate in the educational experience.

MTV and the Jed Foundation have “half of us.” This website serves as an online resource and guide for mental health resources for students. It includes artist and student interviews about mental health issues, especially depression.
