Purdue University Calumet is committed to providing the best possible education for all of its students. Efforts to achieve this goal include efforts to create physical and emotional safety for all students, faculty, and staff. It is the sincere hope that through the evaluation process, resources and assistance can be provided to the student in such a way that the student can continue to receive a quality education and PUC can continue to be a friendly, safe environment for students and staff. Disciplinary procedures are handled through the Office of the Dean of Students.
A student (student case) may be referred to the Student Behavioral Assessment Team (a multi-disciplinary team) when facing an extraordinary discipline and/or safety issue. Various members of the Team may assess a student’s particular physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Additionally, members of the Team may seek additional information or conduct inquiry and/or investigations. The objective is to help identified students receive the assistance necessary to be productive members of the campus community. The primary goal of the Team is to provide early assistance to students in distress in order to ensure well-being and safety. Parallel to that goal is to work with the PUC campus community to help prevent situations of concern, either before or after a conduct violation has occurred, from being more serious.
