“When the story of these times gets written, we want it to say that we did all we could, and it was more than anyone could have imagined.” — Bono
Volunteering. What is it about that word that gets people excited, that grabs their hearts and motivates them to action? It’s been said that all of us, when it comes right down to it, love to make a difference in the world we live and for the people we share this space with. Maybe that’s why so many Purdue Calumet students, faculty and staff volunteer — they are driven to make that little difference in that little part of the world where they roam. And they want it to be said about them that they “did all they could,” as Bono put it.
Thus, the purpose of this web site. It’s designed to link Purdue Calumet students, faculty and staff to volunteer opportunities and to be a resource for those of you who are already making a difference as a volunteer. As you will see, we have listed current opportunities just waiting for someone like you to lend your time and talents. Additionally, we continue to add new web resources for you to use as you get more and more involved with your volunteer community service efforts.
Purdue Calumet Volunteer Services is committed to helping student, faculty and staff volunteers or groups of volunteers link up with community causes who are in need of help. Our plan is to offer two to three university sponsored service opportunities per semester. Opportunities will be listed and sign-ups advertised on this web site.
