Architectural Visualization of Future Emergency Room Renovation
Franciscan St. Margaret Health is one of the largest hospitals in Northwest region, where a newly designed emergency room is being constructed to replace the existing ER. During construction, a display will be viewable on site to provide the public with imagery showing what the finished facility will look like. Using architectural drawings and photos of existing equipment, a 3D model of the emergency room and equipment was created and used to generate an animated walk-through of the new space.
This project attempts to create 3D models of the entire emergency room area based on existing blueprint drawings and Revit files provided. A touring animation for demonstration purpose was created under instructions from Franciscan St. Margaret Health, and employed as a powerful tool for presentations. In addition, an interactive application was programmed and developed using Unity3D. It allows users to explore the environment and view the emergency room from a first-person perspective.
The emergency room area at Franciscan St. Margaret Health is successfully created in a 3D environment. A demonstrative touring animation is made to serve as a powerful tool for presentations, and is being displayed on site during its actual construction. Through this project, CIVS shows an ability to utilize Computer Graphics technology to help enhance expressive force of real-world industries.
