CIVS Hosts the Alliance for Regional Development Working Teams’ Quarterly Meeting

CIVS hosted the first quarterly follow-up working team meeting for the Alliance for Regional Development on June 3, 2014. The working teams presented their accomplishments and received feedback from Alliance management. CIVS contributes support for the alliance through CIVS Director Dr. Chenn Zhou and Business and Outreach Administrator Doreen Gonzalez-Gaboyan who serve on two of the alliance’s four teams.

The alliance, created by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, is a neutral platform made up of key stakeholders from three states, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. The Alliance aims to identify and execute a vision for transformative growth in the tri-state region.  The all-day event included a luncheon, a tour of the facilities, welcome by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost, Dr. Peggy Gerard, a CIVS overview by CIVS Director and Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Chenn Zhou; and a working session in four key policy areas: workforce development, innovation capacity, transportation and logistics and green growth.
