Dr. Chenn Zhou, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Director of the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation, and theInterim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, had a very productive trip to Brazil this summer sponsored by the Association of Brazilian Metallurgy, Materials, and Minerals (ABM). She was invited to give a lecture as a guest speaker at the 67th International Congress ABM held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 31 to August 3rd. Her lecture was entitled “Simulation and Visualization: Keys to Process Optimization”. In addition, she was invited to give a one-day preconference workshop on “Practical Approaches and Application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).” During her trip, Dr. Zhou was also invited to visit ArcelorMittal Tubarão and gave a talk on the Integration of Simulation and Visualization for Industrial Applications.
