Association for Iron and Steel Technology Seminar

The Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) Midwest Chapter sponsored a one-day seminar at Purdue University Calumet on November 10th, 2010. The event was designed to reach high school juniors who have the potential and interest to pursue a college degree in the field of engineering. The AIST invited Lake and Porter County schools to participate in this one-day program. The morning session included speakers from the steel industry to promote various engineering disciplines and job opportunities available throughout Northwest Indiana.  The afternoon was filled with student and industry networking, campus tours and a presentation by Center for Innovation through Visualization & Simulation discussing simulation and virtual reality and how this cutting edge technology creates a more immersive and more collaborative environment for engineering design and improvements.
