Employer: HSPA Foundation

Students should know:

  • Each of the 10 internships runs 10 weeks at an Indiana daily or nondaily newspaper during the summer of 2014.
  • Interns will be paid $330 per 40-hour week for a total of $3,300.
  • Opportunities include news reporting, photography/multimedia, graphic design, online or other related jobs.
  • Undergraduates with at least one term of course work remaining after completion of the internship may apply.
  • Only residents of Indiana or in-state college or university attendees may apply.

Application deadline is Feb. 28, 2014.

Applicants must submit four additional components by mail to be eligible for consideration – and the Foundation adheres strictly to the 5 p.m. deadline for complete applications due to the selection committee meeting the following week.

Public Relations/Marketing Internship (unpaid) for Summer 2014

Internship description: Intern will be responsible for assisting the Promotions Director, Marketing Director and Niche Market Director in various projects. Intern may write about attractions in Porter County, issue press releases, do photography, shoot and edit videos, do graphic design, assist with social media and fact check information. Note that the internship can be tailored to accommodate the candidate who is able to do some, but not all, of the above tasks.

Internship requirements: Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

O’Connor Casting Company has an internship program designed to educate anyone who is serious about learning the casting process.  The internship is a minimum of 2 days a week for 3 months, or 3 days a week for 2 months. For a communications intern, we are looking for a motivated individual who needs little supervision while completing assigned tasks. Interested candidates must possess writing and editing skills. The communications intern will be exposed to copy writing, producing press releases, special event planning, media relations as well as assisting the communications department with monitoring the organization’s media presence.

Legacy Foundation is looking to hire an intern to assist us with populating Give Day pages for our fund holders. Basically, the job would be to review the purpose of a fund here at Legacy and to take stock photos and write a paragraph about the purpose of the fund. The fund holder would then use that page to make their own donations and share the page with friends to boost their fund. We have match dollars available for fund holders from Nov. 14-Dec. 31 and we’re looking to get someone started right away.
